How do i know i have fibromyalgia syndrome?

Fibromyalgia, better known as   “fibromyalgia syndrome”  , is a chronic condition that particularly causes pain throughout the body, such as muscle and joint pain, fatigue and digestive problems, depression and social isolation, these are some of the symptoms of fibromyalgia

It is a distressing condition because   it affects mentally and physically, there are important facts about this condition:

  • Women aged 25 to 60 are mostly patients with fibromyalgia syndrome.
  • They are 10 times more likely to develop the disease.
  • It is diagnosed by a thorough physical exam.
  • A blood test, with complete blood count (FBC) and thyroid gland, is routinely done to diagnose the condition.
  • When diagnosed, patients with fibromyalgia syndrome are often referred to a rheumatologist for appropriate treatment.

Symptoms to recognize fibromyalgia syndrome

1.        Pain from head to toe:   Those diagnosed complain of pain in the body they present, 97% of people who experience   pain throughout their body described as deep, sharp and throbbing,   affects the ligaments, muscles and tendons and sometimes it doesn’t get better with over-the-counter medications.
